1st entry for April 23, 2010

It has been a while since I've had the opportunity to draw B- , and he is a very good, very athletic model. He was working on that Friday at the TSA. These were some of the 1-minute poses that he took.

8th entry for April 20, 2010

These two 10-minute poses and a 15-minute kneeling pose ended what I felt was a fairly successful drawing night.

7th entry for April 20, 2010

After a break, we continued with 5-minute poses.

6th entry for April 20, 2010

B- 's poses continued with trying out more`cocoon' options with a knotted silk band for these two 5-minute poses. I was reminded of an exhibit I saw at last year's Nuit Blanche, where people could send time in sensory deprivation pods, called `witches cradles', that hung suspended like this.
There wasn't much of her to draw, but interesting visuals to me, all the same.

5th entry for April 20, 2010

B- was exploring using the silks as hammocks more than straps for a few more 3-minute poses.

4th entry for April 20, 2010

These poses, playing with the silks, all ran for 3 minutes.

These were 1-minute poses that B- took. (a couple might be 2-minute ones)

1st entry for April 20, 2010

On the Tuesday night I was back at the Drawing Room session on Queen near Roncesvalles (which is open to anyone to join). There was a new person, B- , who was working. These are two 30-second studies and a 1-minute one below.

These were 15-minute and 20-minute poses that ended the evening.

2nd entry for April 18, 2009

These were two 10-minute poses (above) and one15-minute pose (below). On the standing study I fussed (unsuccessfully) with G-'s face too long.

1st entry for April 18, 2010

Sunday was the close of the TSA's Open House, and with that came a full day of moving furniture and the like, right up until the time of the evening drawing session, but it all got finished. After a pause to shower and eat, I was back in sketching. G- was working that night. These were some 1-minute poses he did.

Like any studies that aren't otherwise noted, these are done with HB Conte crayon on 24" x 36" sheets of newsprint.

5th entry for April 13, 2010

Bottom to top, these were two 5-minute poses, two 10-minutes and a 20-minute pose from the end of the evening. The sitting pose was the last one of the night, and I think we were all getting weary by that point. For sure I was: it had been a high energy day, and the asrenaline was starting to wear out.

H- 's work was really good, and it was a treat to get to work with her in a drawing context - you can check out her troupe, Femmes Du Feu soon in an upcoming Fringe Festival piece, called "Plank".
